The Results of Week Eight Could Send Shockwaves Through the Rest Of The Season. Many high-stakes games; many teams seem over; many Super Bowl contenders seem affirmed

Before a mid-season swing shifts, I preview five games that intrigue me in depth. If you have a game coming up you want me to break down, just hit me on Instagram —I'm always on there, always!

Bills vs Ravens

The NFL delivered. The Week Eight matchup between the Ravens and the Bills looked like a measuring-stick battle between two Super Bowl hopefuls in the AFC. Seven Weeks In, This Game Offers The Ravens A Chance To “Get Back Right”, Reestablish Lamar And The Ravens Offense As A Force Coming Off Of An Ankle. Ravens and football Fans Won't Have to Cut Through Exchanges Between Jackson and the media about his medical; he’s back at Practice, and he’ll Return To Action Against The Bills In A Game The Ravens Need. Lamar has missed three games, and the Ravens Have Dropped Two In a row, blowing a double-digit lead in both contests, losing By A Field Goal against The Brown Before Getting Blown Out By The Bengals. At 4-3, the Ravens have UNDERACHIEVED against A Week Schedule. Before The Injury, Lamar Jackson led the league in yards Per Attempt, Explosive Pass Rate(14.6%), and second in EPA per dropback (+0.373 EPA per dropback). In The Absense Of Lamar The Ravens Have Dropped To 20th In Success Rate On Offense and 19th In Explosive Play Rate, Tyler Huntley Play Well In Spurts In Lamar’s Stead The Ravens Had the Third Best Success Rate in First Quarter on Offense In The Absense Of Lamar But Faltered To Forth Worse In Terms Of Success Rate after The First Quarter. the Expected To Run The Ball Home With Lamar But derrick Henry Has Officially Lost A Step, He’s Registered the Second Most Carries Since WEek But Only Mustered 3.5 PEr Carry, A 28.8% SUCCESS Rate, Zero Touchdowns with Sixth highest Stuff Rate In Football. No One wants Lamar back more than Henry, and nearly every receiver on the Ravens Roster Outside Of Zay Flowers, who proves he’s quarterback-proof, averaging 2.15 Yards Per Route Run, 146 yards after the catch. The Bills have the Fifth-Worst Explosive Defense (16.6% in Football). Zay Flowers, with Action Jackson Back, could create havoc for the Bills' defense. The Bills Exit Their Bye 5-1, Still A Game and a half above the Patriots In The Division. The offense is dominant: 32.8 points per game, number one in the sport, 4th in total Yards Per Game. Josh Allen Second In EPA Per Drop back(+0.465)And Passing Success Rate(55.4%) Over His Last Two Games(Since Week Five). The Ravens Defense He Faces Allowed The bengals to Epitomized The “they Had Us In First Half, I’m Not Gonna Lie”, 0 points, -0.279 EPA Per Play, 43 Passing Yards In The First Before The Bengals Took Over Scoring 35 Unanswered, 31.6% Success Rate Before Flipping The Switch for 249 Passing Yards, +1.253 EPA Per Drop back, Four passing Touchdowns, + 0.694 EPA Per Play in The Second Half Against The ravens defense. Joe Burrow generated an 18.8% explosive pass play rate in the second half against the Ravens; Allen: 15.1% Explosive Pass Play Rate Since Week Five.

What’s At Stake? Like nearly every Season After Lamar Jackson Won His First MVP, the Ravens Started The Year As Super Bowl favorites In The AFC because why not? It has to happen someday. The Ravens find themselves last place in the division, preparing to face a tough slate of games starting in Week Eight against the Bills. If Baltimore loses this game, their season theoretically ends. In Last Season’s Playoffs The Bills Went On The Road To Beat The Jags Before Losing On The Road To Broncos They Want To Secure Home field and The First Round Bye In These Playoffs and Every Win especially Against a Foe Like the Ravens Counts Towards That Cause.

X-Factors: The Ravens Famously Sought To improve their defensive line this offseason, which led to the notorious failed Maxx Crosby Trade Before Inking A Big Deal With Former Benagals Star Edge Rusher Trey Hendrickson. However, the Ravens still can't get home with the rush: just one sack and 12 Pressures on Joe Burrow, according to PFF. Getting Effective Pressure Into Josh Allen’s Comfort Zone Won’t Automatically Shift The Game In The Bengals’ Favor Because Josh Allen’s alien, but to give themselves a chance, the Ravens need to disrupt on a down-to-down basis. The Baltimore edge rusher also needs to provide effort, setting the edge against James Cook Rushing On The Outside.

Bills Receiver Keon Coleman Has Shown Flashes Of Brilliance This Season After A Down Year in 2025, averaging 14.9 yards per reception, With A 77.9 PFF receiving grade. I Expect Jesse Minter To Play A lot Of Dime, The Ravens Run dime At The Second Highest Rate, Keeping All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton inside The Box To Wrestle With The Bills Tight End Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox and To Help Plug The Run Fit against The Second Rushing ATTACK in Football. I expect Ravens Head Coach Jesse Minter To Run a lot of Cover 6 to keep deep defenders roaming, and Single-High to fill run gaps, which will give the Bills’ Receivers Opportunities to Attack on the Outside. If Coleman continues to dominate his matchup and opportunities, the Bills Could Quickly take control of this matchup.

Key Stat: Josh Allen Ranks Third amongst All Rushers In EPA Per Attempt Against Dime coverage +1.624); running back James Cook: -0.182 EPA Per Rush Against Nickel.

Prediction: Even With Lamar Jackson Back, He Doesn’t Play Defense For Baltimore, The Bills And Josh Allen Prove Too Much For Baltimore’s 38-20 Bills.

Dolphins Vs Patriots

The Dolphins got the hard part done, knocking off the Jets inNew York and Avoiding What Looked like Their Destiny to fall to 0-17, as the first time in NFL History To Own That Distinction. Football Fans Will Have to Wait Until The Colts Implode in 2027. Beating the Jets only saves the Dolphins from witlessness. Imagine Knocking Off The Defending AFC Champs, and the Dolphins Have That Opportunity facing the Patriots in Miami. For Most of the First Six Weeks of the Season, theDolphins looked like the Most Charitable Organization in Football, Basically Giving away $ 67.5 million for Malik Willis To Perform Cardio On Sundays. In Week Seven against Malik Tapped into His Best Self Against The Jets +0.54 EPA Per Drop back, +0.62 Expected Points Added (EPA), 60.7% Passing Success Rate, 245 total yards and 3 total touchdowns, Two Through The Air and one On The Ground And A 99.6 QBr. Willis punched in a two-point conversion and a pair of fourth-down conversions that helped Miami close the Game. Malik’s impressive numbers could serve either as an anomaly, Far Off From His Season Production, or a forebearer for a Dolphins Offense Making Strides In Experience. Drake Maye Didn’t Perform Anomalously In The Patriots' Week Seven Loss To The Bears, High-End Quarterback Tethered to Crushing Turnovers That Partly Cost The Patriots The Game. The Patriots Defense Gave Up 400 yards Of Offense: 308 Passing Yards To Caleb Williams with a 51.3% Passing Success Rate and +0.396 EPA per dropback. Since Week 4, the Patriots have posted the 11th-worst EPA per Dropback (+0.098 EPA Per Dropback Allowed) and the 12th-worst success rate allowed against the pass. Malik Willis shares a lot of similar characteristics with Caleb Williams, just far less efficient as a physical player, but more gifted and physical as a runner. The Dolphins Defense also struggles To Slow Down Passers 4th Worse In EPA Per Drop Back Allowed, 32nd In Passing Success Rate allowed Facing One Of The best Passers In Football, The Top Passing Offense Since Week four In The Patriots (+0.433).

What’s At Stake? The Patriots Have Dropped a game and a Half Behind Buffalo In The Division After Their Loss To The Bears. A Loss To The Dolphins Would Drop The Patriots to 4-4 and crush the team's morale in the future. For the Dolphins, who have exceeded expectations with one win this season, they should aim to keep their offensive success rolling and build on their performance against a better-than-average Jets. If the Dolphins Can String Together More impressive offensive performances, they could become the symbol of the football tear-down-and-rebuild structure.

X Factors: The Dolphins Have A Top Ten Rushing Offense In Football Because They Have A Half Running Back At Quarterback, But Their Rushing Number Against The Jets Show Mediocre Production: 3.6 Yards Per Carry, +0.04 EPA Per Run Play, Propped Up By A Couple Of Fourth-Down Rushes. Facing A Team With Superior Offensive talent, playing keep-away and Ball Control, 42 Rushing Attempts. The Dolphins need a big game from surprise gem running back Ollie Gordon II. The X Factor For The Patriots: The Offensive Line, Which Shares Responsibilities With The Quarterback For Setting Protection Against The Blitz. Maye Had Good Numbers Against The Blitz, But The One Or Two Times The Bears Got In On Maye Created Game-Shifting Plays In Chicago’s Favor.

Key Stat: The Dolphins play base personnel four-down lineman and Three Linebackers On Defense. The most In Football To Keep Their Linebackers Jacob Rodriguez and Jordyn Brooks On The Field, Drake Maye Ranks Seventh In EPA per dropback against base coverage. The Patriots Should Take This Matchup Cleanly, no-contest 38-10.

Broncos Vs Chiefs

When the Broncos and Chiefs Meet In A Week 1 matchup, we got the Kenneth Walker coming-out party. The Super Bowl MVP, Still Not A Household Name, was overshadowed by Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s Presence: 26 Touches, 191 all-purpose yards, and two touchdowns, including A 60-yard touchdown on fourth Down. Walker seemed Unconatinable Until He Faced The Best Run Defense In Football The Seattle Seahawks Who Havent Given Up An 100 Yard since 2024 Held Walker to His lowest success rate this season (29%) lowest yds/carry (2.6), and Zero explosive runs All While Plaiyng Light Boxes Behind Dime and Nickel Personnel, Traditional A Run Adverse Defensive Formation. Seattle’s Defensive Line Forced Walker to rush mostly through the gut and not along the boundary, outside into space, giving Seattle the opportunity for gang tackles; just two designed outside runs for Walker In The

GAME. The Broncos Have Physical Safeties Like TALANOA HUFANGA Who’s Questionable With An Ankle Injury But He Could Shift The Matchup. Patrick Mahomes and The Chiefs’s Passing Game Didnt Have The Weapons to threaten the Seahawks’ defense deep or One-on-one in The Receiving. The Chiefs Offensive Success Weeks 1-6 Seemed Like A product Of An Easy Schedule After Defeating The Broncos In week one The Chiefs Moved Through Teams Like The Dolphins and Chargers Before Running into The Seahawk in Which The Offense Generated A 36% Success Rate, -0.106 EPA per Play with 35.7% Conversion Rate. The Seahawks Pass Rush Pressure Mahomes 39.1 Forced Him into An Errant Interception In The First Half and Fumble In The Second, zero Deep Completions All Game As The Lost of Receiver Tyquan Thorton And absence Of Rashee Rice Begins To Show Its effect. The Broncos geared their defense more towards pass defense; their edge rusher approach to the game with

more Finesse Than Force, so I don’t foresee the Broncos not leaning towards loading the box while matching up man-to-man in coverage. The Broncos Offense Has Burning Questions Of Its Own, Bo Nix Got His Legs Back Against The Cardinals With A 62 Yard Run, His Mobility Has Always Shined As One Of His Top Qualities entering The Draft In 2024 But He’s Still Not Quarterbacking at A High Level -0.034 EPA Per Dropback on The Season. The Chiefs Defense Struggled Against Seattle In The Pass Game giving Up A 71% Completion Percentage , +0.41 EPA Per Pass Play, seven Explosive Pass Plays allowed and a just 9 Pressures as Darnold Who Has Struggled This Season Finished 20/28 For 257 Passing Yards. The Chiefs Gave Up 150 Receiving Yards to Jaxon Smith- Njigba But The Broncos May Be Without Lead Receiver Jaylen Waddle For This Game With A Chest Injury.

What's at stake? The Chiefs Could Be Reeling After a Crushing Defeat At The Hands Of The Seahawks The Broncos could Step Up To Completely Crush Any Of Hope Of Kansas City Regaining Momentum For This Season By Delivering Another Deafening Defeat To a team Searching For Some Answers. a Chiefs Win Would Secure Kansas City The Tie-Breaker Over Their Chief Opposition In The AFC West Division Forcing The Broncos To Win More Games Than Kansas City To Claim Back To Back Division Crowns.

X-Factors:

Bo Nix Has To Step In This Contest. The Seahawks Didn’t Defeat Mahomes With Defense Alone But By Way Of Sam Darnold And The Offense Making Enough Plays On offense And Not allowing Andy Reid and The Chiefs Enough possessions To Tinker and Figure Out How To Crack Seattle’s Defense. An Offense playing Keep-away, Taking Chances Away From Mahomes, Increases The Likelihood You Don’t Get Shot By Him. On the flip side, Patrick Mahomes Takes His Spot as the Chiefs' X-Factor. The Chiefs Offense Had No Plan After Kenneth Walker got shut down; Mahomes Reverted To His 2025 form, trying and failing to produce offense out of thin air, only to produce a mess of things. I Can’t Imagine The Broncos allowing Kenneth Walker To Embarrass and dominate their defense once again, as I Expect Loaded Boxes And Heavy dosages Of Man Coverage. Mahomes Will Have To Use The Receiving Options He Has To Generate offense.

Key Stat: The Broncos Play Man Coverage The Fourth Highest In Football: 39.1%. Patrick Mahomes: -0.228 EPA per dropback against Man Coverage.

Prediction: A Shot at A Redemption For The Broncos and A Chance to Breathe a Sigh Of Relief For The Chiefs. This Game Comes To The Final Possession With The Broncos Getting The Win On A Last-Second Field Goal, 17-16.

Raiders Vs Jets

When the Las Vegas Raiders Traded For Former Seahawks Starter Geno Smith The Franchise supposed They’s Found A Veteran Quarterback with Something Left In The Tank Who At Best Could Stair The Ship In The Right Direction Or At Worse Not Underperform and Take Their Money With Little Results Like Many Other Raider Quarterback Before. Of course, we know Geno Returned To The Jets, so the Latter, the Raiders Earned The Number one Pick and Signed Quarterback Kirk, A Veteran Quarterback with Something Left In The Tank Who The Franchise Hopes Could… You Get the Point. After A 3-0 start to the season, the Raiders Have Dropped four in A Row After Wrapping Up A Dastardly Defeat At The Hands Of The Rams, 35-21. The Raiders lost a nail-biter against the Chiefs in Week Four, and since then, losses have piled on, growing more dastardly as Matthew Stafford completely undressed the Raiders' pass Defense. While The Speculation About The Starting Position has Arised With Kirk Cousins Has Hit A Down turn In Terms Of quality and Efficiency In the Pass Game, He’s Still Carrying The Offense 48 Dropbacks, 26/44, 295 Passing Yards Two Touchdowns against The Rams Proving He’s Still Capable Of Putting The Offense In Position To Win Games. Kirk could regain his footing against a Jets Defense Experiencing Turbulence: one Week They Crush Deshaun Watson; another week they give up a season’s best QB run to Malik Willis and the Dolphins. The Raiders' pass defense has proven to be the real problem. The Raiders' pass defense gave up three touchdowns and a 63.3% passing Success Rate Against The Rams. The Pass Rush and Pressure Rate Has Fallen From Top Ten To 18th in the league, with just six pressures and One Sack against Matthew Stafford. The Geno Smith the Raiders will face is probably the one they wanted a year ago; he nearly delivered the Jets out of a two-score deficit before the Jets fell short late. GenO Continued To Flex That He’s A Down The field Marks Man Two Deep Completions For 112 Yards Apart Of His 23/30, 287 Passing Yards, Three Touchdowns, One Interceptions, 125.3 Passer Rating, 76.7% Completion Percentage. Right now, Smith Ranks Second In The League In Completion With Just two Interceptions On The Season. In The Receiving For The Jets The Garrett Wilson Show Has Started To Develop Co-Stars, If Any Wilson Has Taken A Step Back Omar Cooper Jr Has Come Along Strong In Recent Weeks +3.96 Yards Per Route Run, +0.276 EPA Per Route, 11 Receptions, 218 Yard Two Touchdowns Since Week Five and He Dominated The Dolphins Second For 115 Yards Receiving. Tight End Mason Taylor caught an “Octopus.” No, he didn’t dive in the ocean; that’s what football people call a Touchdown and a two-point conversion. The former second-rounder has started to come into form. Running Back Braelon Allen Has Stepped In For The Injured Breece Hall and Established Himself As A Force: 104 Rushing Yards On 17 Carries, 6.1 Yards Per Rush, Six Missed Tackles. The Jets have the potential for a top offense whenever they connect under Frank Reich.

What’s At Stake? Aaron Glen and His Staff Needed To Make Strides This Season, Not Win the Division Or Even 9 games, but the games they should win. Losing To The Dolphins would make any head coach shudder, suffer sleepless nights in season, and grow cautious about his future with the team. The Colts Hung On To Head Coach Shane Steichen, Who Never Proved He Could Prepare His Team to Win Crucial Games. Aaron Glenn must deliver in the winnable games for this Jets Team. For theRaiders, winning three games still exceeds expectations, but then expectations shifted. Las Vegas Can Still Pull Themselves back Into The Mix In The AFC West With Either The Chiefs orBroncos in place To Suffer A Loss In Week Eight.

X Factor— The Jets Defensive Line Allowed Malik Willis To Break Contain outside leverage, Negating runs to the Outside Multiple Times, And While They Won't Have That Problem Against Kirk Cousins, Or At Least I Hope Not. The Jets have to get home on Cousins, Starting With Rookie David Bailey. He’s Got To Set The Tone For The Defense.

For the Raiders, Miami tight End Greg Dulcich Had A Big Game Against The Jets' defense: 5/5 Receptions, 86 Receiving Yards, and Maybe The Jets Didn’t Have Dulcich on the scouting report- just Malik Willis and His Legs. New York Will Have Vegas’s Brock Bowers On The Report and make an effort to slow down his impact. Tre Tucker, the Raiders' deep-threat pick, picked up 103 Yards on the Rams. Some in garbage time; the rest of theRaiders' receivers made minimal impact. The Dolphins Don’t Have A Great Deep Pass Defense. Maybe Tucker takes off again, or Jalen Hurts, or Cody White begins to have an impact on the season. Prediction: The Raiders get the best of the worrisome Jets Defense as the two veteran quarterbacks Face Off, blow for blow, and the Raiders Come Out On top, 38-28, Las Vegas.
