NFL Week THree Takeaways.

NFL Week Three Takeaways

Week Three Of The NFL Season may reveal more about every team's standing And Their Trajectory Moving Forward Than Any Week In The First Half Of The Year. By The End Of Week Three, Some Teams Would Have Fallen To 0-3, and While That Crestfallen Outlook Might sadden A Fanbase, Those Teams Will Have a Better View Of Where To Improve Going forward. Every Team Should Have Played At Least One Competitive Team, So the Win-Loss Record Won't Fool Fans As To Where Their Team Stands In The NFL Hierarchy. Standout Players Have Already Planted Their Stake For League Honors, and No One Can Deny Right Now, Josh Allen Looks More Like The MVP Than Last Season. Week Two featured a host of thrilling games that went down to the wire. Week Three saw blowouts dominating the scoreboard, with multiple teams scoring 40 points or more against their opponents. The Commanders are playing with Jayden Daniels, Handling The Raiders Rather Easily. The Vikings started Carson Wentz, who Embarrassed The Bengals, WHO FOUND OUt That adjusting to LIFE with a backup quarterback isn't so smooth. THE Bengals didn’t have Joe Burrow In The Lineup, not for the First Time in Cincy, But The Bengals' Offense Sure looked like an offense that never saw Jake Browning passing the ball. Former Vikings Starter Sam Darnold led the Seahawks to a going-away victory over the Saints. The Panthers Shock The Football World, Blanking The Atlanta Falcons And Pulling Off Their First Win Of The Season 30-0.

Michael Penix struggled immensely against the Panthers' Defense, and After Looking Strong Against Tampa Bay in Week One, He’s Struggled These Past Two Weeks And Couldn’t Get Anything Going Through The Air. Penix Against A Below-Average Panthers Defense Just 18/36 For 172 Passing Yards and Two Picks, No Touchdowns. Penix And The Falcons Receivers did not Look like They Were on the Same Page, and a Heavy Dose of Bijan Robinson couldn't bail the passing game out once the Panthers took control of the game.

The Falcons' Pass Rush Dominated The Vikings, But Only Tagged Bryce Young, Who Didn’t Have a Busy Day Compared To Last Week, Once. Young finished 16/24 121 Passing Yards As The Panthers avoided the 0-3 Start To The Season. Caleb Williams Has Picked Up A lot of Censure For The Bears' Failure To Start This Season, and Rightfully So. The Arguments About The Coaching Structure Won’t cover him This Season. Williams Looked A lot better Sunday Against The Cowboys, Not Flawless, but improved.

William must have watched the Russell Wilson Tape From week one and licked His Lips Seeing The Cowboys Defense, Four Touchdowns For Williams, 18/29 for 298 Passing Yards, Passer Rating Of 142.6, Williams Hit The Cowboys Deep Twice For Two Touchdowns and 100 Yards. Rookie Luther Burden had Three Catches For 101 Yards Receiving and A 65-yard Touchdown, and Rome Odunze had Three Catches For 62 Yards and a 35 Yard Touchdown. Bears Coach Ben Johnson notched His First Win.

Bucs Vs Jets

The Jets' Dramatic Comeback attempt Falls Short As Baker Mayfield And The Bucs Pull Off Another Cliffhanging Final Moment Victory. The Bucs Held A 23-6 Lead In the Third quarter Before The Jets' Lead By Tyrod Taylor took Off Into A Scoring Barrage In The Fourth Quarter, Including Two Scoring Drives By Tyrod Taylor and A blocked field Goal That led to A Touchdown and A 27-26 Jets Lead Late In The Fourth. The Bucs Defense Held The Jets in Check Through Three, Even Picking Off Taylor Once For Six Points The Other Way in The Second. The Bucs Pressured Tyrod, Sacking Him Four Times, But The Jets Kept Coming, Generating 153 Of Their Total 267 Yards Of Offense In The Fourth. Taylor finished 26/36 for 197 Passing Yards, Two Touchdowns, One Pick, and also led the Team In Rushing with 8 Carries(Scrambles) for 48 Yards On The Ground. Garrett Wilson Caught Ten Passes For 84 Receiving Yards. The Jets Nearly Had An Upset On Their Hand, but with just Under Two Minutes To Go, Baker Mayfield Put Together Another Winning Drive With a Big 28 Grab By Emeka Egbuka, Filling In As Number One In The Fourth, and Wide Receiver Sterling Shepard With A 17 Yard Reception To Set Up A Chase McLaughlin 36 Yard Field Goal. The Bucs walk away with a Victory, 29-27. Mayfield Hasn’t Elevated His Play To Super Bowl Level. 19/ 29 For 233 Passing Yards, One Touchdown, 101.7 Passer Rating. The Bucs Go 4/13 On Third Down, But Mayfield's Big Completions Lift The Bucs Late. The Bucs Lost Wide receiver Mike Evans To A Hamstring Injury In The Fourth, Adding To Mounting Injury Woes For This team. Evans Missed Time Last Season With a Hamstring, and While The Offense Has enough firepower to Last Without Him, they need To Get More Consistency out of Baker Mayfield.

Eagles vs Rams

The Eagles pulled A Spirited Comeback Against The Rams After Falling Three Scores In The Third Quarter. After a Sack Fumble By Jalen Hurts To Start The Third, Hurts Would Engineer Three Scores In The Eagles' Next Four Drives, including a Winning Drive of 17 Plays, 91 Yards On A Pass From Hurts To Wide Receiver Devonta Smith that gave the Eagles The Game. The Rams Took The Final possession of The Game and put together a Nice Drive To Pull Into Field Goal range, but Eagles Defensive Tackle Jordan Davis Blocks Kicker Joshua Karty’s last-minute attempt. Davis Scoops Up The Ball And Runs The Blocked Field Goal For 61 Yards for A Cosmetic Score Of 33-26. The Rams Got Off To A Blazing Start In This NFC divisional Round Rematch. The Eagles Corners Had Trouble Handling The Physicality Of Puka Nacua and The Technical Savvy Of Davante Adams, and the Rams' Defensive Line pressured Hurts and shut down Saquon. However, Matthew Stafford Played Poorly, Just 19/33 For 196 Passing Yards, 82.4 Passer Rating, Sinking The Rams' Quest For Pulling Away With The Revenge Match. Hurts, Who Struggled Passing The Ball To Start The Season, was Stuck With The Eagles' Air Attack. His 33 Yard Connection To Dallas Geodert Got The Eagles' Second Half Train Rolling. Hurts to AJ Brown Would Get The Eagles On The Board A Second Time In The Half For An eight-yard score. The Eagles' defense Also Played Stellar, Forcing Two Blocked Field Goals, One Turnover On Downs, and a Punt From the Rams Offense In The Second Half. The Eagles' Secondary Had Trouble With Puka, 11 Catches For 112 Receiving Yards. Davante Adams Caught Three Passes For 56 Yards and A Touchdown. Rams Running Back Kyren Williams 20 Carries For 94 Rushing Yards, with Two Catches For 18 Receiving Yards and One Touchdown. The Eagles Didn’t Win Pretty, But They Found A Way To Win In The End. Devonta Smith 6 Catches For 109 Receiving Yards One Touchdown. The Eagles don’t Often Rely On Hurts To Use His Arm To Win games, But He Proves He Could Wrap Together Enough big-time Time Completions To Deliver A Win. After The Packer, The Eagles Don’t Have Much Competition Outside Of A Hobbled Tampa To Challenge Them In The NFC.

Browns Vs Packers

The Football world Knew Going Into Sunday's Matchup Between The Browns and the Packers, with All The Questions Surrounding The Quarterback position in Cleveland, That The Browns’ offense didn’t Have Enough Power To Compete With The Packers. The Entered Week Three Ranked 30th In EPA Per Play Only Above The Titans and Vikings In EPA Per Play and Versus The Packers' Number Defense, Little Changed. The Browns' Defense Gave Jordan Love Problems For Much Of The First Half And Beyond. Through Two Weeks, Love hadn't Seen Much Pressure, one Of The Lowest Sack and Pressure Rates In The League, But The Browns delivered On The Rush. The Packers Fought Hard, Like Pulling Something From The Mouth Of A Dog, Hard, To Score Their First Touchdown Late In The Third Quarter, On A 14 Play 71 Yard Drive, And The Packers Lead 10-0 For Most Of The Game. Despite the Browns' Offense Playing god Awful, 3/12 On Third Down, 3.4 Yards Per Pass, the Browns’ defense Put Cleveland in a Position To Win. In The Fourth Quarter, the Browns’ defense Picked Off Jordan Love, Safety Grant Delpit stole The Possession and Returned The Ball To The Green Bay Yard Line. The Browns’ Offense Would Score Two Plays Later On A Quinshon Judkins One-Yard Run That Tied The Game 10-10. The Packers Avoid A Fumble Turnover on Their Next Drive On a Josh Jacobs fumble that The Referees Rule Him Down Inside The Browns' 30 Yard Line. The Browns' Special Teams blocks What Looked Like A Winning Field Goal. Instead, the Browns Get The Ball Back, and Joe Flacco, Who Played One Of The worst games At Quarterback This Season, Strings together 2/4 completions For Eleven Yards. Browns’ Kicker Andre Szmyt Connects on A 55 Yard Field Goal To Deliver The Browns A Climatic First Win Over The Presumptive Best Team In The League. The Browns' Offense Played Miserably, but The Defense Kept The Contest Close. The Browns’ Sack Jordan Love Five(5) Times On The Game, Holding Him To Just 89.2 Passer Rating, 18/25 Passing, one Interception, and one Touchdown. The Browns Got A Big Game From Running Back Quinshon Judkins, Who Rushed 18 Times For 94 Yards and One Touchdown On The Ground. The Packers almost Salted Away The Clock late In The Fourth, but the Rushing Game couldn’t Keep The Chains Moving Late. The Packers Looked Invincible But Ran Into The browns, And This David and Goliath Matchup Went To The Underdog. If His First Test, When The Defense Couldn’t Win The Game, Jordan Love Couldn’t Win With His Arm In The End.

Colts Vs Titans

The Colts' Offense Looks Brilliant So This Season, Chris Ballard And The Colts Brass Didn’t Have Daniel Jones In Mind When They Constructed The Offense, But He Fits The Billing For What The Colts and Shane Steichen Want To Achieve. Quarterbacks Don’t Regularly Compliment The Offense. Normally, The Skill Pieces Compliment The Quarterback As Jones Excels In Hitting Crossing Routes And other Intermediate Areas Of the Field. He’s Not The Explosive Game Breaker With His Arm; He’s Deliberate, And The Giants Never Got That Right With Jones. The Colts Have Made all The Right Moves. The Colts Put The First Touchdown on The Board, not On Offense But On Defense, as Kenny Moore Picks Off Titans Rookie Quarterback Cam Ward And Returns The Interception For 32 Yards and The Touchdown.

After A Titans Punt, the Colts Would Put The First Offensive Touchdown On The board, with 9 plays, 77 yards finished off by a one-yard Jonathan Taylor Run. The Colts' Streak Of No Punts Would End At 19 Straight Drives In The Second Quarter Against The Titans, But Not Before The Colts Amassed A 17–6 Lead. The Colts Wouldn’t Have To Punt Much For The Rest Of The Game, As The Offense Just Shredded Their Way Through The Tennessee Defense. The Colts' Offense Powered By A Blow Away Performance By Jonathan Taylor, 17 Carries For 102 Yards Rushing, Three Touchdowns As The Colts Beat The Titans 41-20. The Colts' offensive machine punted just once, missed a field goal, and scored on four straight possessions to end the game, excluding a final possession kneel. Daniel Jones 18/25 for 228 Passing Yards, Excelled In The Intermediate Game 6/7, 91 On Passes Between 10-20 Yards downfield, 7 of 9 such attempts for 130 yards. Cam Ward 23/38, 219 Yards Passing As His Rookie Trial By Fire Continues.

Vikings Vs Bengals

Several teams had backups running during the action. Only one game featured two quarterbacks: Carson Wentz and the Vikings, facing the Bengals. Several teams had backups running during the action. Only one game featured two quarterbacks: Carson Wentz and the Vikings, facing the Bengals. Several of these backups were once considered key players for their franchises. Wentz started full-time at Time For Multiple Franchises, the Eagles, and the Commanders. Whether the Vikings “Soft” Benched Struggling JJ McCarthy for Wentz, A palpable Difference From the Start Of This Game Took Effect.

Wentz Has Better Arm Talent—He’s Always Had Better Arm Talent—He Could Command The Ball Through Defenders. Wentz Lead The Vikings To Their First Score Of The First Three Quarters After He Connected with Tight End Josh Oliver For A 12 Yard Touchdown To Cap Off A 6 Play 62 Yard Drive. Wentz Can Throw A team into and Out Of A Game In between drives, and He Tends To Hold The Ball, Which Got Him sacked multiple Times Against The Bengals. This Vikings’ defense Has Played Well Enough For This Team To Stand Undefeated, But In Week Three, The Group led by Brian Flores helped support The Struggling Offense. Isaiah Rodgers Picks Off Jake Browning on the Bengals' First drive To Give The Vikings A Score Lead In The First Quarter. Vikings Corner Isaiah Rodgers, who the Organization Scored Two Long Defensive touchdowns, One On An Interception, Another On A forced fumble, For Two scores, Picking Up 166 Yards On Return Yardage In The Process. Both Offenses Only Amassed 161 combined at The Point Of Rodgers' Return Touchdown. The Vikings' Offense Would Tack On A Couple of Second-Half Touchdowns That Put This Game Out Of Hand. The Bengals' Offense Has Talent. Football Fans Have Witnessed Jake Browning Play At A High Level for Two Seasons, But The Bengals Look Completely Inept Against The Vikings' Defense. The Bengals' Offense Finished With 171 Yards Of Offense As Jake Browning Not Only Struggled To Look Like Joe Burrow but also Struggled To Even Look Like The Best Of Himself, 19/27 for 140 Passing Yards, One Touchdown, Two Picks, and A Passer Rating of 63.8. Of the Bengals, Ran The Ball At All, Only They and Score Card Keepers Knew, Quiet, Hush-Hush Game On The Ground, just 53 Yards On 21 Carries and A Fumble. The Bengals Fumbled Five Times, Lost Three Times, for a total of turnovers. The Vikings didn’t need an Impressive Game From Carson Wentz, 14/20 for 173 Passing Yards, two touchdowns, 129.8 Passer Rating, and Three Sacks. Wentz finished With A 2.4 Time to throw, but Held The Ball At Times too long. His Upside In This Offense Looks Limited. Justin Jefferson had five Catches For 75 Receiving Yards in his Best Game Of The Season Thus Far. The Bengals' 2-0 Start Looks Headed Down The Drain Fast If Zach Taylor Can’t Fix His Backup Quarterback, Jake Browning. The Bengals Built Their Roster, Especially Their Offense, Around Three Players: Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, And Tee Higgins, and if These Guys Don’t Carry The Offense (and Respectively The Team).
