Monday Night Football Reviews

Bucs Vs Lions

I’m not surprised the Buccaneers Offense Didn’t Show Up In Monday Night’s 24-9 Loss To The Lions, No Matter How Bad They Looked, and They Looked Bad. Not To Sound Like A Bucs Apologist, and the Lions Did Their Big One Responding To Their Loss To the Chiefs in Week Seven. Still, the Bucs' season Has Consisted Of One Thrill Ride After Another, like a Christopher Nolan Movie. A Dud Showing Seemed Inevitable Somewhere Along The Schedule, and Monday Against The Lions Became The Best Opportunity For A Letdown Of Sorts. The Bucs Had Mike Evans And Emeka Egbuka Healthy To Start The Game, but Evans Left with A Devastating Injury in The First Half. Egbuka Finished with Four Catches For 58 Receiving Yards. Evans Finished With Zero Catches, But He Forced A 23 23-yard pass Interference Call In The Second Quarter.  The Buccaneers' offense started the game with five punts in the first half, with only a fumble and an interception giving their punter a reprieve by returning the ball to the Lions. Tez Johnson Picked Up The team's Only Touchdown In The Third Quarter On a 22 Yard Catch and Run Reception that Put The Bucs In Position To strike At The Lions' Lead, 14-9. The Bucs' Next four Drives Would Go: Punt, Downs, Downs, Downs, End of Game. At One Point In The Second Quarter, the Bucs offense had generated 36 Yards To 176 Yards For The Lions. Baker Mayfield finished 28/50 for 228 Passing Yards, Facing Pressure 33 Times On 54 Dropbacks, Took Home Four Sacks, One Touchdown, and One Pick. The Bucs Offense Averaged -0.489 EPA Per Play and 9 Points on 13 possessions. The Lions didn’t Exactly Dominate. Detroit finished the game With A -0.171 EPA Per Play, but scored Three Touchdowns And ran the Ball Better On Average. Both quarterbacks turned the ball over. Goff suffered a sack fumble in the first quarter, and Tampa sacked him four times, along with an interception. Goff finished 20 of 29 passes for 241 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Jahmyr Gibbs Energized As The Lions' Offense After Slow Game On The Ground Against Kansas City Gibbs Totaled 218 scrimmage yards, 82 yards Receiving On Three Catches, 5.47 Yards Per Route Run, up 11 missed tackles forced, 17 Carries For 136 Yards On The Ground, Two Touchdowns, including a 78-yarder.  The healthy Buccaneers team still needs another offensive piece and some help in the pass rush department. Tight End Cade Otten Lead The Team In Receiving with 67 Yards, But Produced A -0.11 EPA Per Target Because He’s More Of A Check Down Option. The Team Needs a More Dynamic Threat at The Position. The Pass Rush Sacked Goff Four Times, But Only Pressured Him 13 Times In Total. Goff Had Over 3.09 Secs In The Pocket, Meaning The Coverage Played Their Role Even If They Failed To Tackle. The Bucs need more disruption at the line of scrimmage, but ultimately, they can disregard this game as a routine loss, one they had to accept on a tough schedule. The Lions Need Another Outside Threat As Well 78% Of Goff’s Yardage Came After the Catch.

Seahawks Vs Texans

The Seahawks Take Down The Texans, Keeping Pace In The Division and The Conference with A 27-19 Win Over The Texans. The Texans' pass Defense Lived Up To The Hype, Despite The Win. Sam Darnold Produced His worst game Of The Season: 17/31, 54.8% 213 Passing Yards, One Touchdown, One Interception, 40.0 QBr, and -0.55 Per Passing Play. The Seahawks Finished With -0.281 EPA Per Play, 20.8 Yards Per Drive, 1.7 Yards Per Drive, But Seattle Doesn’t Have Jaxson Smith-Njigba, 8 Catches For 123, and A Touchdown. Smith-Njigba Prove Nearly Unstoppable DownField, Six Of Eight Catches Came On Passes Ten Air Yards Or Better Down Field. Those Two Healthy Games For The Texans Proved Only an Illusion Conjured Up By The Presence Of Bad Teams On A Soft Spot In The Schedule For Houston. The Texans' Offense Finished The Game 2/15 On Third Down, 1/4 On Fourth
